After 12 weeks of enforced closure due to Covid-19 we are delighted to be able to reopen our door to customers on Monday 22 June.
During lockdown we have been selling books online and taking orders over the phone, by email or messenger. A huge thankyou to everyone who has supported us over the last 3 months. It has been a difficult and challenging time for everyone but books provide a means of learning, escape and relaxation for many people and we are delighted that we have been able to provide support.
But, we know that there is nothing like having a good browse for books and, as we reopen, we aim to create an environment that makes you feel happy to do this even though there will be some inevitable restrictions.
On reopening we will be asking our customers to:
Sanitise hands using the gel provided on entering the shop – this will also apply if you are wearing gloves. Feel free to use gel when you leave as well if you have been holding books.
We will only allow one person (or couple) per aisle to ensure social distancing.
Do not enter the shop if you have a cough or feel unwell with any Covid-19 symptoms.
Book 2 Browse
Shopping by appointment for anyone who would rather visit outside of opening hours, especially suitable for people who have been self isolating and for families.
We are delighted to have been awarded the Caboodle Bookshop of the Month by National Book Tokens. If like us you love nothing more than receiving a book token as a present, then it’s worth checking out Caboodle if you haven’t already! Find out what offers and events we have in place at Gwisgo Bookworm, plus prize draws, book recommendations and exclusive competitions organised by National Book Tokens.
We have a good news update as the new normal is taking tiny steps back to the old normal. Our two main distributors of new books, Gardners and the Books Council of Wales, are now able to supply us with bulk orders of books to re-stock our shelves.
So, a huge thank you to all those that have been ordering books and from next week we will be able to offer you a wider selection of new titles which is just great news.
For books currently not in stock, once again we can now complete your orders of multiple titles as well as single orders using Gardners Home Delivery Service. Order new titles from us and they will be sent straight to your door while supporting us at the same time. So, if you can’t see the titles you want on our website contact us by phone or email and we will sort your books out.
Tell us what genre and authors you enjoy reading and we’ll carefully select a variety of books that we think you will enjoy. Choose from modern fiction, historical novels, classics, crime/thrillers and sci fi – or any combination of these.
Five 2nd hand fiction for £18 including postage or delivery local to Aberaeron.
The shop is now temporarily closed following government guidelines
But it is still possible to order from us
Knowing that many people will find self isolation easier to manage with good books, some new music to listen to or greetings cards to write, we still aim to provide that service
We can take orders by phone, email, online or Messenger
We can take payment by card over the phone, via PayPal or Bank Transfer
If you aren’t sure what you want to read we can make recommendations if you let us know what books you usually enjoy
We will deliver free of charge wherever possible and with a minimum charge for more distant deliveries. Orders will be left in an agreed place to avoid direct contact. Orders can be posted for a small charge
Tel: 01545 23 82 82 please leave a message if we don’t pick up the phone
